Inspire Create: Exercise 3 - Weekend Project Sat/Sun 9-10 June 2012

Inspire Create: Exercise 3 - Weekend Project Sat/Sun 9-10 June 2012

I have two choices for the exercise for this weekend, you can do either or both! It's completely up to you :)

Exercise 1

This first exercise for the weekend is a little drawing/doodling practise to explore designing a little bit more.

a) Google the terms Matryoshka Doll, Babushka Doll and Kokeshi Doll to get an understandi
ng of each and find out which shape you like best.

b) Draw the shape or outline of a Matryoshka/Babushka/Kokeshi Doll with a black marker pen if possible or substitute with a dark coloured pen (any one of these three types of wooden doll shapes is appropriate)

c) Decorate the 'doll' any way you like, by drawing a face, some clothing, and a design you'd like on the clothing...you can do this any number of times you like...you may want to create a whole lineup of Babushka Dolls

Exercise 2

This second exercise involves no drawing at all. All you need are the condiments, herbs, spices, rice, tomato sauce or ketchup, etc, etc...that already exist in your pantry or refrigerator.

a) Go to your fridge and pantry and collect some herbs, spices, condiments, fruit, vegetable, pasta, ketchup, etc, etc

b) Find a thick piece of cardboard or paper, large enough to draw a circle or oval about 20cm x 20cm or an A4 size.

c) create a 'self portrait' with whatever you have collected (you are welcome to cut up vegetables, fruits, etc...to make eyes, eyebrows, lips etc...use some paprika for rouge...you get the idea

d) Take a photo of it and post it for us to enjoy if you're aren't to shy!

Remember, you can do one or both of the exercises and post here whenever you are finished each task if you feel like it...but there's no pressure to post...the main thing is that you are having fun and feeling inspired to create!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!!

It exists to help people find all the creative exercises I have posted on Facebook more easily. To engage and interact, to join in the fun, please join us at Facebook @Inspire Create with artist Karin Taylor and please post your contributions, creations and artwork on Facebook rather than this blog. Thank you and aloha, Karin
